A dog. He was a DOG!
"Linger, you asshole!" she shouted. At least, that's what he tried to shout. What came out was a series of yips.
"Quiet down, you young pup." The infuriating voice came from behind him. He spun around, looking for the imp, but there was no sign of him.
"I'm sitting behind your head, schmuck. Nobody else can see me, and you're 100% dog, so nobody else but me can understand what you're saying."
Jim took a deep breath, calmed down (a bit, anyway) and made his way over to a shop window where the glass came down to the mall floor. His fears were not unfounded - his reflection showed a dog, and one of those yappy miniature types with a pushed-in face and long hair. Why couldn't he have been a wolf, like the dog (or was it really a wolf?) in the shop?
"Don't get your panties in a bunch. Show me the sights, and if I'm in a good mood afterwards, I'll maybe get you changed back." came the voice he was coming to loath. What now?
