"So - wanna race?" Rick joked as the headed off into the depths of the ancient mansion.
Jim snorted. "Hell, this place is big enough, you COULD run a marathon in it."
"Yeah - but I'm not planning to go that far. So.... where to?" The red-head asked.
"Anywhere, I guess." Jim said with a shrug. Picking a door at random, he opened it and they stepped inside.
"Uh... Jimbo...?" Rick said, hesitantly.
"I see it." Jim confirmed. "I don't BELIEVE it - but I see it."
The two friends stared amazed at the item sitting on the desk that, aside from two chairs, was the rooms only furnishing. The item shouldn't have made jaws drop - it was a simple, everyday computer.
It was the hum of the fan and the amber 'sleep mode' light on the monitor that caused the awe. Becusae the computer - in a house that, supposedly, had no working electricity - was on.
The two friends moved so in sync that it would be tought to say whether it was Rick tapping the Space Bar or Jim moving the mouse that brought the computer out of sleep mode. They settled into the chairs in front of the computer and watched as the screen warmed into life, revealing...
