Bad night to be patroling near a cemetary!
Unending BE - episode 32451
Officer Ken Jenkins had just left the coffee shop down the block when he got a call from dispatch to investigate a possible trespassing/break-in at the nearby cemetary. Tossing back the remainder of his coffee (yuck, coffee rinds at the bottom... can never seem to find a decent cup 'a joe in this town) he hopped into his cruiser and steered himself up for the lecture he assumed he was about to give to the jokester kids he usually caught in the cemetary goofing around at night.
As he pulled up to the gates of the graveyard, he made a mental note that the gate was still locked and that it didn't appear to have been tampered with. "Well," Jenkins thought aloud. "it's a good thing that I got a copy of the gate key from old man Hoadley the groundskeeper." Stepping out of his patrol car, Officer Jenkins strolled over to the gate and took a quick, cursory glance around. Nothing seemed to be out of the ordinary, so he began to unlock the gate so that he could drive his patrol car into the cemetary grounds... the sight of a police car was usually enough to scare away any kooks, kids, or would-be grave robbers. As he finished unlocking and opening the gate, he turned to climb back into his patrol car. But a twig snapping nearby stopped him in his tracks. "Who's there?" he called out. "I'm a police officer, I want whoever's there to come out here where I can see you!" After a minute or two had passed, and still noone appeared, Jenkins decided to flush out whoever was hiding just inside. Muttering to himself, "..damn kids.." he walked into the graveyard, the gates still opened to the street. As he walked into the darkness, a passing stray mutt stumbled by. Pausing to urinate on the patrol car, it made no notice to the sticky thud that accompanied the patrol officer's frantic screams for help. Sniffing lazily into the air, the mutt wandered back down the street, in search of something new to piss on.
