Meanwhile the Marquis and the bound and gagged Jim were watching Sharon's progress on a TV screen (it seemed that the Marquis must have CCTV cameras everywhere). Jim was wondering if their captor could be the infamous Marquis de Sade, but he decided that the Marquis' breast obsession made him more of a Marquis de Sad.
After descending the stairs, a short length of corridor led Sharon to a closed door. By turning sideways, she managed to lay her hand on the doorknob and opened the door. On the far side was another length of corridor very similar to that in which she stood. But when she went to pass through the doorway, she discovered that - whichever way she turned - there was no way that her breasts could be made to fit.
What should she do now? Retrace her steps? Though the Marquis had not mentioned a time limit for her escape attempt, she assumed that she would not be allowed forever to find her way out. As her breasts restricted her field of view, she turned through 360 degrees whilst looking sideways, and then again whilst looking down, in an effort not to miss anything.
Her thoroughness was rewarded. She spotted a trapdoor set into the floor not far from where she stood. She managed to open it, and saw that a flight of steps went down into near darkness. Did she really want to risk going down there?
