Crowded Treehouse

"OK," Sharon called down, "but leave your equipment behind." "Not to worry," called up a cameraman. "I'm not sure that we could climb the vine with it anyway. And even if we took some footage, I'm not sure that we could use it. Our TV station is based in the Bible Belt, and I don't think they're ready for bestiality just yet."

Soon the treehouse was rather crowded, with Sharon, Jim, the interviewer, two cameramen, a sound man and a producer. Sharon was reminded of that classic scene in a Marx Brothers' film where Groucho's cabin on board a liner fills up with more and more people. Jim seemed rather nervous at the presence of so many people, but didn't do anything.

"So," said the interviewer, getting out a notebook, "tell us the full story behind how you came to be like this and finished up here." Even with the evidence of her hairy form, Sharon wasn't sure that her amazing story would be believed.

  1. So she made up something else.
  2. *She told the story anyway.
  3. The attempt to tell it made the collar constrict about her throat in a warning.
  4. "No," replied Sharon.
