Jim toiled in his lab for days hooking up hoses, calibrating the Heisenberg compensators, grafting isolinear chips, and programming his custom-built guidance computer. Before he knew it, he was finished - he had built a matter transference device (which functioned much like a transporter from Star Trek).
"I really should test it," Jim remarked, "But I don't want to try it out on me. And I don't want to send any of my stuff through - I don't want any of my stuff atomized."
Jim pondered for a while and then exclaimed, "I know, I'll test the recall function! I'll beam someone here!"
