"Her transformation," the scientist answered, "is now being driven by her child. It needs to grow, and it needs to be born, and after being born it will need to be fed." The doctor walked slowly around Sharon, who bristled with contempt. "It is nature's way, you understand. Her child's needs come first. If that means she needs to grow, and change, to suit her child's needs, so be it."
"But she's turning into a horse!", Jim shouted.
"I am not!" cried Sharon, after finishing another mouthful of food. She tried to stand up, and found that she couldn't; her body, especially her abdomen and rear end, were now too heavy for her to stand comfortably.
"You needn't fight it," the scientist said, pointing. Sharon's tail waved through the air.
"Her offspring will be larger than you are now," the scientist continued. "And thus, when the time comes, she will be ready to deal with you."
