Double-D Thinks Outside the Box!

Unending BE - episode 28112

“The crate sounds like the simplest and fastest way to go. But then what?” asked Donna. “I can’t just burst out of the crate at the airport!”

“Oooh, oooh, I know!” Velma shot to her feet and squealed. I’ll have to go with you and take the crate somewhere private! You said you’d take me on another expedition someday! How about now? I’ve been training hard since Colombia! I can run your assault course in 30 minutes now! Pleasepleaseplease!” Velma was bouncing up and down with excitement, and nearly slipped on the wet floor of the pool area.

Donna smiled at her assistant’s enthusiasm. “Well... I don’t see any other alternatives. But this’ll be a lot harder than compiling databases for me. If anything dangerous happens, promise me you’ll stay out of harm’s way.”

“Really!? Yay! I promise!! This won’t be at all like last time! I swear I won’t touch any statues, no matter how big of a...”

Hoping to direct Velma’s energy before she exploded, she said “Let’s get ready.”

Velma brought out Donna’s fireproof backpack, which Donna had made after hot lava burned up the Scroll of King Kamehameha while she was running down the slope of a volcano. It was less than half full, since she left behind all her guns & ammo, flares and first aid kits.

She brought her laptop, hard drive crammed with all the info Velma had found on the Mines and her latest 3D mapping program. The laptop also had a new integral digital camera. Also included were her archaeological tools like brushes and magnifying glasses. At the last minute, she tossed in her electric razor, since the shaggy fur on her legs was already growing back.

So, 24 hours later, Velma, in her trendy new Malaria Zone safari outfit, boarded Air Peru flight 1666. She checked a large box marked “Computer components-DANGER-Argon Gas Buffer Do NOT open in an Oxygen Environment!” as part of her checked luggage. As Donna looked out through the fisheye lens in the side, she saw the baggage handlers had worried expressions on their faces.

Donna sat in the case, with a space heater to keep her comfortable. Even with it maxed out, she still felt a bit chilly. As she reviewed her notes on the Mines of Machu Pichu, she realized they’d be a tough nut to crack, even with all the powers of her demonic body.

As the flight progresses...

  1. *A steward asks Velma if she’d like to join the Mile High Club. Velma, thinking that’s like the Frequent Flier Club, agrees and heads aft with him.
  2. *The plane is hijacked by terrorists! Really WEIRD looking terrorists!
  3. Donna sees something moving in the hold and decides to check it out.
  4. Peruvian customs wants to open Donna’s box!
  5. They arrive without incident and Velma rents a truck to get out to the area of the Mines.
  6. *Some other hazzard of air travel occurs!
