The nanites had rebuilt the dog’s body according to the VR template, but the program had been designed to edit a human pattern, not a canine’s. The result was a strange mixture of dog and skunk, with a good measure of breast enhancement thrown in. Er, a very good measure.
“Growl,” the skunk-dog said as Jim moved in for a better look.
She approached carefully, “N-nice doggy. Good doggy. I’m not going to hurt you.”
“Bark,” the dog replied, and seemed to calm down a little. It still looked extremely pissed.
Wait a minute. Dogs growl and bark, but they don’t say ‘growl’ or ‘bark’. And they don’t have readable expressions.
And wasn’t its voice a tad familiar?
