With his nose so close to Sydney's hair, he could not help but detect a certain musk. Jim inhaled deep to achieve its full effect, his nostrils filled with the soft, flowery aroma. Dozens of thoughts filled his mind, particularly those relating to why girls had to smell so damn good, and how he happened to be sharing an intimate moment with one whose sex appeal was now skyrocketing through the tent mast (among other things).
"Are you wearing perfume?" Jim inquired.
Slightly puzzled, Sydney brushed her bangs aside as a tear ran down her cheek as she looked over he shoulder. "No," she replied, "why do you ask?"
"Just curious," Jim mused as he twirled a strand of Sydney's curly hair around his finger. He looked into Sydney's watery, emerald green eyes and saw something he never noticed before. With his other hand, he used his index finger to lift the solitary tear from her cheek. She closed her eyes and let out a gentle sigh as he did. From there he ran his hand down her neck, and lifted the pink sweater from her collar, placing his fingers upon her sternum. Jim moved in to kiss her, and before he could he was stopped by...
- Her lips, which moved up to meet his.
- Her fist, which admonished his actions with prejudice.
- *The sudden realization that he was not acting under his own control.
- The sudden realization that it was wrong to take advantage of Syndey's misfortune.
- A wild cackle from the audience, and Jim could not see who was there.
