How Do You Talk to a Mermaid?

Becky wanders over to the nearby pond while the rest of the girls headed over to the stream to rinse off. In the pond is a mermaid. She swims majestically through the crystal clear water. Then she notices Becky.

"Oh my, a visitor! We never get visitors at Mermaid's Cove. What brings you here?" asked the mermaid.

"I think it's my fault. There was this magic wand-type of thing and..."

"Oh, no need to explain any further. I've heard of travellers such as you. So now that you're here for eternity, what are your plans?" the mermaid asked.

"Eternity? Well, I hadn't thought about that..."

"Want to become a mermaid? It's a fun life full of underwater exploration. Maybe some of your friends would like to join. It's really easy to join. Just drink from the waters of the cove."

"I don't know.... I should talk it over with the others... hmmm...."

Becky ponders her options and decides to...

  1. *... become a mermaid.
  2. *... talk to her friends about it.
  3. *... go for a swim in the cove (to sample mermaid life without making a commitment).
  4. ... run back to her friends who went to the stream to warn them in case the stream is part of the cove.
