The Doll's House

Unending BE - episode 20373

Sharon was reduced to six inches high. Apparently, the company had planned for such a possibility, for a luxourious doll's house was all ready for her. It had all mod cons: full furnishings, carpets, electricity, even the plumbing worked. However, it had no roof, so Sharon had no privacy whatsoever. Anyone could watch her at any time. Though she could dim the house's lights when its clocks told her it was night, she could not turn them off completely. And they hadn't bothered to provide her with any clothes. escape was impossible. The house had no doors or windows to leave by, and although she might have climbed over the wall the whole house was kept within a large case of transparent perspex.

Often Sharon would look up from whatever she was doing, and see one or more large faces (as they now appeared to her) looking down at her. She wasn't sure which was worse: the lack of privacy or the boredom. Sure she had a miniaturised TV, radio and hi-fi, and even a miniature PC (no Internet access, though, for obvious reasons), and even a library of minature books, but all that soon began to pall. The only excitement she got was every couple of days, when someone would open the perspex case, fish out her miniature refrigerator and replace it with a new fully stocked one.

One day:

  1. *Sharon realised that she was slowly shrinking further.
  2. Sharon realised that she was slowly growing.
  3. *Sharon was told that they were going to use her as a guinea pig for some experimental breast growth hormones, which they would put into her water supply.
  4. *Sharon decided to try to escape the next time her fridge was replaced.
