GUNSLINGER'S STORY LINE: 'A BAD New Day...'

Unending BE - episode 11295

Head pounding, James Thomas Curk maoned, the stiff muscles of his body complaning loudly at the mistreament they'd been through, laying on the cold, rough surface for so long, and...

That's when Jim's foggy mind suddenly connected the present with the past. He suddenly recalled... last night...? ...when he'd been more then a littel plastered, him and his friends celbrating his twenty-fifth birthday. They'd been in Steve's van, out on the old Route 66... when a strange, blue-green glow had enveloped the van...

That was the last thing Jim remembered. Now, startled, he sat bolt upright, ignoring the protests from his rangy body. He looked around..

"Oh, Jim... What did we drink last night?" Kara asked, brushing her dark hair out of her eyes, her slender, petite body obviously as stiff as Jim's was. Almost neurotically, she carefully adjusted her fuzzy blue sweater and white pleasted skirt, smoothing the soft material odf her skirt over her firm D-cup endowments, something Jim would have gladly done for her - but she'd always been standoffish to him - and just about every other man, unless they were incredably rich, incredably handsome - or rumored to be incredably well-endowed... like Steve, her current 'beau'.

"It wasn't what we drank.. remember that glow?" Steve asked, his muscular, broad-sholder black body seemingly less affected then the others - all that massive muscle must have acted as padding, Jim thought wryly.

"Yeah - what the hell was that?" Sandy asked, slowly standing and brushing the dust from her jeans and sweat-shirt. Athletic and cute in a tomboyish was, Sandy had (appropriately) sandy-blonde hair in a fairly short style, and she was the least startled and worried of the group - though they'd all just awoken in a strange place, she was as energetic and cheerful as usual.

"I don't know..." Jim said, looking around. They were in what amounted to littel more then a red brick box. A large-bore round tunnel ran off of one wall, and in the cealing above them, a somehwat smaller tunnel line with rings led upwards...

"Hey - we're in the old storm-drain system!" Jim said, startled. "I thought they tore all of this out when they put in the new system!"

"The did..." Steve said, off-hand. "Except for Hillcrest, when..."

He stopped, and everybody's eyes widened.

Hillcrest was the old insane asylum outside of town. It had been locked and boarded up by the cop in 1988, after it was found that the owner and manager had apparently gone off the deep end himself. local legends claimed that he'd turned the place into a secret bordello taht catered to every type of fantasy imaginable, including some of the ones where the partner would have to be crazy to particiapte - which, of course, made a certain, perverse, sort of sense...

"Gee - do you think that's Hillcrest up there?" Kara asked, pointing upward.

"Could be - but that could be an access point outside the grounds, and the actuall enterance could be down that way..." Sandy said, pointing to the larger tunnel.

"This could be cool - we could see what Hillcrest is like inside.." Steve grinned.

"Hell, no!" Kara said, sharply. "I just want to get out of here!"

Jim shrugged. "Since we're lost, we end up where we end up. What I want to know is how we got here in the first place..

Nobody had an answer for that one. The discussed their options, and finally decided to...

  1. Go into the tunnel
  2. Climb up the pipe
  3. *Split into two teams, and each go one way.
  4. Something else
