She went through the door. There was a small room with a bed and some other furniture. A young Asian woman was there and asked Joni, "What animal do you want to be?" Joni was sure this was some kind of game and said, "A gorilla. It's most like humans. Is that what I can be?" "Of course, how long do you want to remain an ape?" "One week is plenty," said she, getting into this game."Please take off all your clothes and lie down on the bed." She complied.
Joni was getting a little nervous; this was awfully serious. But the young woman put her hands on her forehead, and Joni was in a deep sleep immediately
She didn't know how long she had been in this deep sleep, but she woke up relaxed and immediately noticed that she had undergone vast changes. Her body was covered with hair, no "fur" really, everywhere; her face was totally different; and her body was huge, though not much taller. She felt panic, and jumped out of bed.
It was hard to stand up, and instinctively she dropped the top of her body onto her hands, using the knuckles for support. She did manage to walk like that in front of the full-length mirror on the wall. What she saw was an ape, a gorilla, which was her now, she realized. She was almost six feet tall, with strong muscles, an ape's face, and large breast dangling down. She would llater learn that her wieight was 290 pounds.
"My God, you really did it. I thought this was a game. What do I do?" oddly enough her voice hadn't changed, it was still Joni's. She sat down on the floor and looked at the girl. "I'm afraid you're committed to a week. That cannot be changed. But we have a nice compound behind the tent with rocks and trees and other apes. We feed you regularly. Or, if you came with someone and they are wiling to keep you for a week. That's fine"
