Tutorial - Itieu.
The first thing you need to do is to open the layers palette in photoshop and make a duplicate layer of the picture. Use the pop out menu and just hit duplicate layer. You now have 2 layers. Click the lower one and hit the pop out again and choose new layer. You now have a clear layer between the two copies of the picture. Bear with me those of you who may see a extra step here ...this is the way i do it, i like to have a copy in case i make mistakes

There will be a eye icon next to two of the pics and a brush next to one. The brush icon is the active layer. Click on the top layer to make it active and click the eye icons on the other two to turn them off. You will now be working on only the top layer.

If the pic is not in rgb mode convert it. Then go to image, adjust, selective color. Hit the pop down and go to black. Pull the black slider all the way to the right, click the pop down again and hit neutrals and again pull the black slider all the way to the right hit it again and go to white and pull the slider all the way to the left. The blacks are as black as they can get and the grays are also now black. You can use the magic wand tool and click in the white areas and then hit cut. Do this till all you see are lines with a checkered background. Now the fun starts.

Click the layer below the line art to make it active and flood fill it with white. You should now have the picture back. A clear layer on top that has only the lines in it and a white background below it. With the white layer active hit the pop out again and then create new layer. Make sure that layer is active. You'll have a white layer, a clear layer and the layer on top with the lines only.
